Februrary Edition

August 16-17, 2022

‍Live From the AgroExpo

This year, just before February, the Great Lakes Crop Summit took place at the Soaring Eagle Casino, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. This conference is an annual convention for the Michigan Soybean Committee, the Michigan Wheat Program, and the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan. Within this summit, there are plenty of opportunities for input suppliers, producers, and other industry members to connect and see the outlook of both Michigan and National agricultural industries.

The Summit kicked off with Clinton Griffiths giving the keynote discussing this year's U.S. Farm Report. Following, was breakout sessions that covered value added soybean options, weed management issues, trade with China, and many other important topics.

At the BASF Annual reception, the 2021 and 2022 Master Farmers were recognized for their contribution and dedication to Michigan Agriculture. The 2021 recipients were Frank Vyskocil of New Lothrop, Waldron Farms of Stanton, and Jim Wilson of Yale. This year's recipients are Dennis Garnder of Yale, Bill Hunt of Davison, and Greg McCarthy of Edmore. Also recognized at the banquet that evening were the FFA Crop Management Challenge Participants and Winners.

The AgroExpo staff would like to congratulate those who were recognized at the banquets and we are looking forward to next year's Great Lakes Crop Summit!
